Your network marketing list is both the life blood of your business as well as your most valuable asset. One reason that many networking businesses fail, or at least fail to produce a significant income, is a lack of qualified, responsive leads.

A lack of good leads can be a problem for both the online and the offline marketer, although there are more inherent limitations to the networker who is using traditional offline marketing techniques.

How many times have you heard it said that the money is in your list? Well, that’s not exactly true. The money is actually in your relationship with your list. But that’s another topic for another day.

All else being equal, the bigger your network marketing list, the more people you’ll recruit and the more money you’ll make. So, how do you grow a giant list?

Sounds pretty obvious doesn’t it. And yet, most traditional list building strategies do just the opposite.

How many people looking to start (or restart) a network marketing business are likely to be on your friends and family list? What are the odds that the person next to you in the checkout line wants to join any home business, let alone yours? How many prospective new networkers read the local newspaper or even the New York Times?

On the other hand, how many potential prospects read network marketing magazines or hang out in online forums or search on industry related keywords on the internet?

The other secret to growing a huge list is really no secret at all. The more prospects you can reach with your lead generation (i.e., list building) activities, the better. This is where online marketing has a real advantage over the traditional off-line techniques. Traditionally, new enrollees are taught to start by making a list of 200 or so people and to contact them in the first 30 or 60 days about their new business. In comparison, many internet network marketers are generating 200 or more leads every day and every one of those leads go into an automated contact system immediately.

So, if you want to grow a really large network marketing list, and be able to stay in continual contact with that list, an online automated system is the way to go. There are a number of online lead generation techniques, both free and paid, that can generate 20 or more leads per day, and there are methods for monetizing those leads even if they never join your primary business.
